If you ask a friend how long her food storage would last her family, you'll likely get a standard, vague response.

"Oh, I think we've got about 4 months' worth. I could stretch it to 6 if I had to."

Ha! Let's be real. She has no idea how many meals she can cook from her pantry.

When is the "stretching" going to start? When does the rationing start? On day one? Today?
